Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 20, 2025
This policy explains how ReelPit collects, uses, and shares information when you visit our site or create an optional user account.
1. Information We Process
- YouTube metadata: We ingest only publicly available video information via the YouTube Data API, including titles, thumbnails, statistics, channel details, and topical categories. We do not request or receive private account data, OAuth tokens, or any personally identifiable information from Google or YouTube viewers.
- Usage data: We measure aggregated engagement signals (for example, page views) to understand how the site is used. These metrics are stored without identifying individual visitors.
2. How We Use Information
Collected data supports the display of leaderboards, monitoring of ingestion jobs, and basic security of the service. We do not sell data and retain only what is necessary to operate the site.
3. Data Sharing
Limited information may be processed by infrastructure providers (such as hosting and analytics services) strictly to run the application. No personal profiles or private YouTube data are shared.
4. YouTube and Google Policies
Because the site depends on the YouTube Data API, your use is also governed by the YouTube Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy. We neither seek nor can access private playlists, subscriptions, or other non-public user information.
5. Changes
If this policy changes, the updated revision date above will indicate when the new terms take effect.
